My verdict: 3.5 out of 5

2015 | Drama | 103minutes 15secs | Watch here

First of all, the title of this movie. I don’t know why it looks like some serious gbagaun to me but then, it isn’t. There is actually a phrase called ‘Keeping Secret‘. The synopsis…

A dying wife instructs her much younger husband to locate the daughter she’s kept as a secret from him, not knowing that he has other plans in place

This movie was a good movie but very predictable which I think was its major flaw. I mean, you could actually prognosticate the outcome of each scene. Notwithstanding its predictability, it was a nice movie which made very good use of its flashbacks. The flashbacks were used to explain the movie in depth as well as to tie up loose ends which was very good.

The acting was good as well, Ebele and Belinda were the standouts. This director was good with directing Belinda, she wasn’t the hybrid she normally plays with bad or negligent directing. Also the guy that played Frank’s (Frederick Leonard) friend was good as well. He was only on screen for less than 5 minutes and the guy stole the show in that scene. His acting was very natural. However, Peggy was just the same as what we have seen in previous films; same as Frederick. Although, I wouldn’t entirely blame it on them because the characters they played were very mono-dimensional that they didn’t really need to dig deep in order to portray them.

All in all, it was a nice movie. Good job to the crew.
